Response:
Follow Up and Clarification from Requester attached below: Respectfully| I am declining your request to produce documents to the district. I submitted a Freedom of Information Act request for public records on November 4| 2019. The district had a legal obligation to produce all responsive documents or identify with exception any documents being withheld. As you know| the district produced 3 documents via a link on November 12th. On November 13th| the district indicated that nothing was being withheld. The responsibility is on the district to now produce the document that I have described with sufficient detail in my previously emailed request on November 20| 2019. Based on the original response from the district| I see that Assistant Superintendent Carol Baker serves as the FOIA liaison on this request. Did Ms. Baker review the request and decide which documents to produce in response to the FOIA request? If not Ms. Baker| then who was responsible? Based on a cover letter that was attached to the document| my understanding is that every board member was also sent this document so perhaps the board of education can assist the district. Since I did not receive this document with my original FOIA request or with recent request on November 19th| I request that the district provide this document by noon on November 22| 2019. I also would like this document to be presented and discussed at the Board of Education meeting on Monday| November 25| 2019. I look forward to receiving your response. Sincerely| Ankit Patel| MD Thank you for your follow up. As you anticipated| D86 for Transparency did mail a letter and attachment to the Board of Education. Linked here are the document submitted to the Board of Education: Curricuum Equity – Department Chairs Meeting: Committee of the Whole Date: Monday| January 7| 2019 Item 10.1 Curriculum Equity https://go.boarddocs.com/il/hinsdale86/Board.nsf/ I have added these links to the “Release Notes” of your request where they will be accessible to you| and the community via the FOIA log. The District is committed to transparency as evidenced by the volume of documents accessible to the community through our FOIA portal| FOIA response log| Transparency portal| Board documents portal [BoardDocs] and District 86 website. My understanding of your request as written was that you were looking for proposals concerning the content of a common curriculum. I did not understand that you were seeking proposals for a timeline to align the two high schools’ curricula. As is our regular practice| I submitted your request to relevant staff and departments. I used the language of your request| “proposal for a Common District 86 Science Sequence program|” to generate parameters to electronically search District records for responsive documents. My understanding of your request was in good faith. As noted in my previous response| if you believe I haven’t provided something you wanted| you may contact me directly to discuss. My direct line is 630.655.6108. Debra Kedrowski FOIA Officer Hinsdale Township High School District 86 630.655.6100 [Additional Follow Up and Clarification attached below.] Original Response: The Academic Report on Science Sequence was presented to the Board at their October 23 2019 Regular Action Meeting and is publicly available in BoardDocs. |
