The district references its response to your request R000873-032821| including the exemptions stated therein| and again provides Textbook Adoption records; Comprehensive Board-Approved District Book records; and Proposed New Course / Tentative Textbook and Resource Addition records via the Public Records Center. To the extent it is relevant to this request R000925-092121| Proposed New Course Materials – SY 2021-2022 [page 21] includes the following notation for three proposed texts: “In line with our CELT mission| this text increase the diversity of voices in the curriculum.” Please note: The Vanishing Half – Brit Bennett – not used as a whole-class text. Some teachers are planning to use this text as one option from among many in “book clubs” Sing| Unburied| Sing – Jesmyn Ward – This will be a core text for some AP Lit sections during second semester this school year. A PDF of the AP Lang syllabus is provided. Zenzele: A Letter from My Daughter – J. Nozipo Maraire This text will not be used this year. Because teachers have to get books approved before they learn of their teaching schedule| sometimes| books are approved that are not used.
